Next, you can configure the IDE to work in a way that works for you through keyboard shortcuts. I’m going to stick with Visual Studio for Mac shortcuts, but the bindings can be changed later through the Preferences menu item. Visual Studio for Mac will then greet you with the Start Window. Visual Studio's IDE is where you'll spend most of your time in the program. By customizing the layout and preferences to suit your workflow, you'll save time and avoid mistakes. Hi Jerry,I've split my desktop across two monitors and tried to reproduce the situation you've described. The actions I performed were:1. Opened VS and the GridDesigner Form on the primary monitor and then moved GridDesigner to the secondary monitor.2. Detached the secondary monitor.
In this case, I do see the problem - when I press the 'Run Designer' button, the window is shown somewhere within negative bounds and is not visible. However, as soon as I restarted VisualStudio, the designer window appeared in the correct position in the middle of the screen. I've checked our source code, but I did not find any place where the form location is stored. In fact, we only use the Form.ShowDialog dialog method without specifying the Form.StartPosition property.
Thus, the previous position is kept internally by.NET Framework.Would you please clarify these moments?I hope to hear from you soon. Well, two monitors may be OK, because there isn't much you can do with 2 monitors.
My office/work configuration has 4 regular sized monitors (2x1920x1080,1280x1024,1366x900) and 2 smaller touch monitors. My home configuration is 7 monitors (4x1920x1200,2x1280x1024,1x1280x768) and in all cases the monitors are a mix of vertical and horizontal displacements. So, I moved the notebook back home today, Reopened the project with the main window/documents on the 'main monitor' and clicked on the grid designer.
It popped up in the middle of the design form as it should.Whereas in my work configuration it still pops up in some invisible location and I can't do anything with it.There has to be someway to reset the position of this grid designer so I can use DevExpress at work (really rather important since this client is paying me to build them a DevExpress based Winform application)It had worked fine until I used it at home this last weekend.
